Fact: A majority of those with vulvas and vaginas prefer clitoral stimulation. In fact, a recent LELO survey on what makes us come found that 70% of women reported orgasming through some form of clitoral stimulation, whether that be clitoral-only (43%) or a combination of clitoral and other (27%).
Point in case: clitoral massagers are some of LELO’s most popular toys for obvious reasons.
The SONA family of clitoral massagers is well known in the sex toy industry because of its SenSonic technology, which sends pulsating waves deep into the clitoris to stimulate 75% more of it in comparison to standard vibrators that stimulate just the tip. Google a picture of the clitoris and you’ll see that the external part that’s visible to us is such a small part of this pleasure center.
Inspired by SONA, LELO recently launched their newest clitoral massager — SILA. What’s the difference? Let’s get into it…
How SILA and SONA 2 Work
Like SONA 2, SILA also harnesses SenSonic technology to send waves deep into the clitoris. The body-safe silicone is engineered to absorb sonic waves and send them back into the body, creating a gentle yet deep and intensely satisfying sensation.
Both toys are also 100% waterproof so that you can enjoy yourself without the worry of any charging ports. The SILA and SONA 2 are also cleverly designed with USB charging because nobody likes battery-powered sex toys dying on them when they need them most.
Some additional perks of shopping with LELO:
- Free discreet shipping (3-5 day delivery)
- 1-year warranty

Major Differences Between SILA vs SONA 2
The biggest difference between SILA and SONA 2 lies in their design purposes. Both, of course, stimulate the clitoris, but SILA is engineered for a gradual, more built-up climax, whereas SONA 2 is known for the powerful pleasure it can bring. You’ll notice that SILA has a wider mouth that allows the vibrations to spread equally across the whole clitoris, not just its center.
Another major difference is that both the original SONA and SONA 2 have “Cruise” options. The LELO patented Cruise Control technology is a special feature that allows the toys to maintain power even when they’re pressed hard against the body. Basically, the devices save 20% of their battery to maintain vibration during climax. You can check out more information about it here.
Some other noticeable differences:
- SILA has 8 vibration patterns, while SONA 2 has 12.
- SILA has a usage time of up to 2 hours, while SONA 2 has a usage time of up to 1 hour.
Which One is Right for You?
It all comes down to preference. If you like to get straight to pleasure town or know that you need strong clitoral stimulation, we recommend SONA 2. If you want to explore a more gradual climax or don’t require much clitoral intensity in order to orgasm, we recommend SILA.
